Graphics and Design

Maps and Graphics for Peer-Reviewed Publications

I have experience using RStudio, Inkscape, QGIS (map design), and BioRender to make datasets memorable and engaging.

This map was created in QGIS using shapefiles sent to us from our collaborators at UEF showing the aerial extent of the permfrost. The legend and other supplementary info was added in Inkscape and BioRender. It appears in my 2025 publication in JGR Biogeosciences.
This profile of a permafrost landform is one that I have used many times in presentations. It was made using BioRender.

Graphic Design for Events and Outreach

I've used Inkscape, Canva, and Powerpoint for various event planning and outreach events. Linked below is a pamphlet I designed and printed for each of the 50+ participants of the Rewetted Wetlands Network "Re-Wet-Net" workshop in Nørre Vosborg, Denmark. I designed this in Canva on a relatively quick (>5 day) turnaround while incorporating the input of five other organizing committee members, without the use of AI. I also have experience designing posters, t-shirts, event announcements, and social media posts for non-profit and volunteer organizations.
